So today I’ve been wearing my Old Navy jean skirt for, like, the fifth day in a row. Mostly because I am staying at Santa Monica and it’s been hot, so I can wear it over my bikini and walk down to the beach, then shake off the sand and run errands.

I always thought jean skirts were DATED (they bring me back to 5th grade and high tops, and that was the last time I owned a jean skirt), but they really do go with everything. On fat days, the skirt hides the flab in a way dresses can’t. On thin days, your legs always look good in them. On lazy days, they’re like jeans but better: Everything just airs out while you’re wearing it, so it’s like a perpetually clean garment.
